Can I Obtain a Credit Report for Someone Who has Passed Away?
If your spouse has passed away or your are the executor of the estate or have the power of attorney for the deceased, then you may obtain a copy of the credit report. Write a letter to the 3 major credit reporting agencies at the following addresses: Equifax Credit Information Services, Inc.

In the letter, indicate your name, your address and the relationship to the deceased, along with copies of two forms of your ID. Make sure to also include any supporting documents, like the death certificate and a marriage certificate if you were married. You must include the name, date of birth, date of death, last address, place of birth (if known) and Social Security number of the deceased, along with the reason for your request.
