How do I Erase Potentially Negative Items from a Credit Report?

Credit Score First, request a credit report from all three major credit bureaus, TransUnion, Equifax and Experian, and document anything you find that is incorrect on the reports. Record what the negative item is and why you think it should be removed from your credit report.  Next, contact the bureau that had the negative item and request removal of the item.  You may have to start by calling them to find out if there is a specific department that you need to speak to.  The best way to do everything is in writing, so that there is a paper trail of progress.  You may even be able to contact the agencies via their websites.

If you can't afford your minimums and are missing payments, it is time to take action.  Make sure to contact us online or call The Law Offices of Jacoby & Jacoby at 631-289-4600 to schedule a FREE consultation to discuss your individual situation and get your finances back on track.
